CAN - Tago Mago

I have been interested in the Krautrock genre for a while now without really listening to very much, so when a friend lent me ‘Tago Mago’ by CAN, I pretty much skipped home to listen to it. My only real experience of Krautrock is Neu! and their album 'Neu! 75'.The sound for that record consists of plenty of drone, a minimal 4/4 drumbeat and a combination of piano, guitar, vocals and synth to create a punk aesthetic. CAN continue that punk aesthetic, but combine it together with jazz and psychedelica. The record is hugely experimental with each song demonstrating immensely contrasting influences and sounds. I strongly recommend this album, but if nothing else can someone explain the record ‘Peking O’ to me?....what the hell is it?
