'The Delights from a Discotheque Part I'

Exciting news; I have a new guest blogger going by the name of 'Lennox Dickinson'. Not much is really known about this infamous 'Lennox Dickinson' apart from the fact that he is a bastard milk snake with several perfectly formed hips. He is now going to produce a weekly blog on the the various delights from a Discotheque.

Dorian Concept- Her Tears Taste Like Pears EP.

Lennox Dickinson: Dorian Concept's new EP drops on Ninja Tune on 28th March.… On this record Dorian ventures further into 2-steppy territory with almost Ramadanmanish (real word) sounding percussion, combined with the Jazzy fucked-up keys that Dorian is renowned for.

The highlight for me is the wonderfully titled 'My Face Needs Food' which is a banging' 2-step beat with a haunting synth hook that sounds like a really nasty nursery rhyme- obviously the sound of a really hungry face?! The whole EP is quality though and definitely worth a listen or two.

Check out the sampler here & remember to cop dis shit in March

Julio Bashmore - Battle For Middle You

If you haven't heard of this man yet then you probably need to sort your life out. Either that or you just don't really like house music.. Either way don't worry because you can listen now and momentarily forget how uncool you are.
Bashmore's latest EP dropped in January and it is huge. This track has got to be the strongest from the release with it's deep baseline and hypnotic synth work. Ramadanman's 'Maurice Donovan Dub' remix is equally as large.

Ghostpoet - Run Run Run

Ghostpoet's debut LP 'Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam' dropped a couple of weeks ago on Brownswood and has been the cause of some serious hype. 'Run Run Run' is a personal favourite but the whole record is pretty sick.
Meditative, reflective lyrics are accompanied by minimal, dubby beats. This is the debut of a truly original UK Hip-Hop artist.

Check Ghostpoet out live at XOYO on 16th April.

Many thanks Lennox Dickinson
